Have you seen Phoenix Nights, where Max and Paddy give that fella £3,000 to disappear? Then a few weeks later he rocks back up with a sun tan after being on holiday.

This guy from Africa was being paid to return to Africa and he will probably end up back in the UK in a few months once he has spent his £3,000.

Also lets not forget that Rwanda send their asylum seekers to us to look after so it's just a straight swap.

In reality we aren't paying £3,000. We are paying £3,000. Then food and lodgings for 5 years, then paying for the up keep of a Rwandan Asylum Seeker who will come to the UK. All on top of the £500m for the scheme that was supposed to be to send people there for processing they claims, not sending them there voluntarily after having a failed claim.

If you think this is good value, then I really don't know what to say to you.

Which part of my post was incorrect then?
They’re not French. They come from war torn regions in Africa, the Middle East and Afghanistan. The vast majority go to Turkey, Germany, Italy, Greece etc. a small proportion of them come through France to get here. Which bit of that is too hard for you to understand?

Hysterical overreaction. We take a much smaller proportion than many other European countries. And most aren’t ’illegals’. It’s a minuscule proportion of our GDP.
Let’s be honest, this isn’t really about economics, is it?

    You haven't a clue

Don't expect you leave your doors unlocked at night

If someone breaks in to your house it doesn't make them part of your family

Nothing to do with economics, sure, this is no problem, thought you wanted more spending on social care or is that only for non residents... ?

The thing about this graphic is it is tiny when you draw a line to 750,000 over the top. Which is the number that Sunak and Co have waved into the country legally and given visas too.

Exactly. All this hysteria about the small boats is just window dressing for political point scoring.
Many people voted for Brexit in order to stop all the Poles and Bulgarians coming here to work. Insted, weve replaced them with massive numbers of Africans and South Asians coming here legally to prop up our ailing public services. Somehow, I don’t think that’s what was intended.

Why? Come off it Dave. You know as well as I do that many people’s opposition to immigration is sod all to do with economics. (In fact, the economics is simple - we need these people to keep our NHS, social care and hospitality secors going.) It’s because they don’t want more people here who look and speak differently from themselves and have different cultural norms. Denying that is disingenuous.

You're missing the point, yes we have shortages in many areas that these people might fill but the government should have a say in who comes into the country to fill those position, you keep on about them coming from war torn countries all of them ?. I wonder if that is the case why they have no identification on them when they come ashore, denying that is disingenuous ?.

Not aimed at you obviously but I don't deny that social cohesion and the loss of our cultural norms are a problem along with the economics and I'm not afraid to say it .....

Worry ye not, all will be solved at the next General election, it's not only the UK struggling with this problem (although it's not a problem according to some) let's see how Starmer tackles it because like it or not it ain't going away.
Maybe the Red wall who voted the Tories in with an 80 seat majority are all racist every one of them, maybe they are older voters who have seen the demographics of those Northern towns and City change in such a short period and wonder what these areas will be like in another 50 years, because as sure as hell multiculturalism isn't working.

The red wall were sold a lie, and the chickens have come home to roost.

Take back control, control our borders, remember all that. As has just been said we didn't stop free movement with the EU just so 750,000 visas could he handed out elsewhere.

Johnson had the majority in the commons to do exactly what he promised and he pissed it all away so we are now with the utter shit show we now see. It's no surprise the Tories are polling at 18%, just 3% ahead of reform on 15%.

The strain it puts on local services is putting stress on an already broken infrastructure. Spare me the bullshit about fleeing war torn countries and all this asylum bollocks, I've lived far too long to fall for that shite. Never thought I'd see myself saying this of a Conservative government but 14 years of constant cutbacks and non existent leadership in what I'd class as the Tory way has left this country broken, mass migration, law and order falling apart, the mess that is Brexit. Things that I would have guaranteed the Blue side of Westminster would have dealt with far better than Labour.

On the day 1 person flew off to Rwanda with £3,000 of taxpayers cash in their back pocked, 711 people crossed the channel in small boats.

Sunak has had a fair crack of the whip, it's time he called a general election as this is an utter shitshow.

Not sure I've ever seen anything as crazy in politics and let's be honest we've seen some wacky shit. The priority should be stopping them getting here in the first place, they have no right to be here and offer nothing to the economy. Gets on my tits knowing every penny I chuck back to Mr Sunak and his government doesn't even come close to homing one of these grifters. And lest not turn this into something that your attacking the poor, I hate the privileged far more. But that doesn't stop me seeing this for what it is a complete waste of time and money that could be stopped by sending them back to where they came from.

Can't disagree, but I'm not sure once May had done the deal (as it would never have got through with anything like a hard Brexit) there was no way Boris could change much, one of the few actions he could have taken at the time could be to exit the NCHR its 80 years old and no longer fit for purpose with regards what were seeing across Europe, unfortunately Covid became the main issue and IMO rightly so.
Without doubt the Tories will get dumped on their backsides and I believe many who voted Tory back in 2019 will vote Reform as once again Labour will not deliver with regards people who are coming to the UK.

Its about us not wanting the influx of illegals crossing the channel every day and expecting us to finance their keep.

I don't pretend to know the answer on how to stop it, but then I'm not a politician, but something has to be done to stop it all together
